September 14-16, 2020
This will be a virtual training. Participants will need a webcam, computer microphone or phone connection, and reliable internet connection. Joining from a tablet or Chromebook is not preferable. Participants will also need a dedicated space, relatively free from distractions. Additional information and links will be sent prior to the training.
Pre and Post Work:
Participants will be required to complete 10-12 hours of self-paced pre-work the week before the training and approximately two hours of post-work 2-3 weeks after the training.
Schedule for Virtual Course:
September 14 - 16: 8:30 am - 5:00 pm
Participants will have 60 minutes for lunch along with regular breaks throughout the day.
Plan for daily homework to prepare for the next day’s sessions and for your mandatory presentation.
$1850 for the New Instructor training, $850 for the Existing Instructor training (Existing Instructor training is only available for those who have already been certified as an Adult MHFA Instructor).
Those canceling 30 days or more prior to the training date will receive a 100% refund; 29-7 days prior to the training will receive a 50% refund. Those canceling with less than 7 days’ notice prior to training will not be eligible for a refund. Cancellation fees are the responsibility of the registering party and/or their organization. Cancellation fees may not be paid with a scholarship or other funding from the Department of Mental Health. Scholarship recipients who cancel will be responsible for paying the cancellation fees as established above.
Transferring Registration to another MHFA Instructor Course:
Participants may transfer registration to another course with notice of at least 7 days. Scholarship transfers are subject to the approval of the Department of Mental Health.
As stated on the application, acceptance into the instructor training course does not guarantee certification as a Mental Health First Aid Instructor.
