ABOUT the GWP CONFERENCE: GWP is an organization of, by, and for teachers of writing. We know that when given time, teachers embrace learning from each other. This conference is designed for just that...teachers learning with and from teachers.

This year's conference features:

· A keynote session by Dr. Kimblerly N. Parker, author of Literacy is Liberation.

· Three break-out sessions with over 15 session choices facilitated by area teacher-leaders.

· A closing general session with book giveaways.

· Coffee, snacks, and a catered lunch.

Join the energy of the day, and return to your classrooms powered up with new strategies, deeper thinking about teaching writing, and new friendships in the field.

ABOUT GWP: The Gateway Writing Project recognizes that writing is the center of communicating ideas, understanding thought processes, and promoting high academic achievement for all learners. Building on a network of teachers, GWP focuses on being the heart of sharing expertise in writing across the curriculum, exploring new writing technology, reflecting on diversity, equity and social justice issues, building teacher leadership, and creating collaborative learning communities.
