Victor Lloyd is a full-time trainer/speaker for the Center of Cognition and Recovery. He trains behavioral health professionals in the theory and practice of Cognitive Enhancement Therapy at a state and national level. He worked 15 years in law enforcement as a training specialist teaching personnel about mental illness and crisis intervention. Victor worked as a case manage, drug counselor, high school teacher and clergyman in the Cincinnati area. Victor has over 30 years of public speaking experience. He was named the first Educator of the Year in 2007 by the Hamilton County Chapter of National Association for Mental Illness (NAMI). Victor holds master level degrees in theology and pastoral counseling.
Schizophrenia is a complex disorder that cannot be healed. Individuals affected by this disorder may experience thoughts that are not reality, behavior and speech problems, lack of concentration and memory difficulties as well. Schizophrenia may not be as common as other disorders, but symptoms can be disabling and lifelong however manageable with the correct therapy.
If you work in the field of behavioral health you may find this program to be of interest. Social workers, case managers, psychologist, counselors and other professionals that may come in contact with clients that are affected by schizophrenia will find this program to be engaging and help to understand how to work with clients diagnosed with this disorder.
